Peregrine Semiconductor expands operations into China

Regional sales and technical support targets South Asia Pacific RF designs

San Diego, California, March 28, 2005 — Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation, a leading supplier of high-performance RF CMOS and mixed-signal communications ICs, today announced the opening of its newest sales and technical support office located in Shanghai, China. The new facility, which opened in February, is managed by Technical Sales Manager Frank Wan, who joins Peregrine with solid experience in the RF Wireless market having worked in China for Nokia Corporation and Skyworks.

“Peregrine’s leading-edge combination of high-performance UltraCMOS™ technology and robust products is opening doors in all parts of the world, and the China market is exceptionally inviting,” stated Jim Cable, Peregrine’s CEO and president.  “As China’s top OEMs gain RF design expertise and more complex applications are developed, so too, increases the need for highly reliable, easy-to-implement, cost-effective RF ICs.  We believe our growing list of RF design wins for cellular handsets, broadband CATV/DTV, aerospace and cellular infrastructure will set the foundation for us to further develop Peregrine’s penetration into the Asia Pacific region, especially in repeaters and basestations where local manufacturers have strong marketshare,” he added.

Peregrine’s South Asia Pacific General Manager Wayne Huang will oversee continued expansion into the region, including management of its sales network, which includes Richardson Electronics (www.rell.com); Apache Communications (www.apachecomm.com) and EDOM Technology (www.edom-tech.com).

The office is located at 28G, Times Square No. 500 Zhangyang Road, Shanghai, 200122, P.R. China. Phone: +86-21-5836-8276.
